Chapter 4 · §4.1

API-only, paper-trading, portfolio-intent submission

Strategy logic stays put while notional capital is resized behind it

Entries are submitted through API, not through a manual consumer interface. Participants submit positions or target changes as a percentage of portfolio capital. This is the right abstraction because it mirrors how serious strategies are expressed and it lets Finam resize the notional capital attached to the strategy without changing the participant's signal logic.

That matters because the competition is supposed to evaluate the quality of the strategy, not the participant's ability to optimize around a changing nominal cash balance.

PARTICIPANT INTENT POST /portfolio/target { "AAPL" : 0.30 , "MSFT" : 0.20 , "GOOG" : 0.15 , "NVDA" : 0.10 , "CASH" : 0.25 } target weights % of portfolio capital no cash amounts. no specific orders. via API FINAM SYSTEM applies notional weights × N SCENARIO A notional = $1,000,000 AAPL $300,000 MSFT $200,000 GOOG $150,000 NVDA $100,000 CASH $250,000 SCENARIO B notional = $5,000,000 AAPL $1,500,000 MSFT $1,000,000 GOOG $750,000 NVDA $500,000 CASH $1,250,000 Same weights. Different absolute orders. The strategy never had to know.
Same intent, different notional. The strategy logic doesn't need to know.
